Leftover Turkey??

After having turkey sandwiches the past two days, I decided I needed to make something else with the leftover turkey we had. So, when I went to the grocery store yesterday I grabbed a few things and threw them in the crock pot this morning before heading out to church so we would have lunch ready for when we got home and I know the kids will be glad it is not sandwiches.
So, if you don't know what to do with your leftover turkey, hopefully this is a quick recipe your family may enjoy. Just add a cup of water and some extra seasoning if you would like and enjoy! Hope you all had a blessed holiday and Happy Sunday!

The birth of my premie

When I found out I was pregnant, I was ecstatic! My husband and I had only been trying for 2 months so I was surprised we were blessed so fast. Everything was checking out great at appointments until around 20 weeks when they had to give me blood pressure medicine to keep it under control. We had also found out we were going to be blsessed with a little girl. Yay...pink bows and dresses had me giddy!
All was fine until my 28 week checkup. My doctor told me he wanted to admit me for observation for the night to see if my blood pressure would stay down with bed rest and also run some further tests. After a night's stay, he decided I needed to go on bed rest and come back in for a NST (non-stress test) and steroids on Monday. I went in Monday-Wednesday for steroid shots and NSTs and I ended up gaining 10 pounds in 2 days because I had started retaining fluid. Thursday was Thanksgiving and I remember being so tired and sleeping the day away on the sofa. Friday came and when I went in for my stress test, my blood pressure wouldn't stay down. My doctor came into the room and told me that he was sending me to Greenville where I would probably have Trinity within a few days. I was in shock!

Everything after this seemed to happen so fast. We drove to Greenville where I was admitted. I was taken off my meds and they said that they were going to monitor me and once I started having high blood pressure readings, they would induce me. They put me on magnesium so I would not have seizures because of my blood pressure and that was some rough stuff!! I literally felt like I was in a sauna! I believe I froze my husband in the hospital room. LOL Sunday morning the group of doctors came in and said that they would go ahead and induce labor because my blood pressure through the night had started elevating. I was 29 weeks 6 days pregnant and terrified.
I was given a catheter,  IV, hooked up to a monitor and my labor was induced. It wasn't long after I was set up that the nurses were going back and forth checking on Trinity. Soon they decided to move me to a labor and devlivery room so they could keep a closer eye on me. I remember getting settled in the room while RJ and his mom went down to get our bags. Well, around this time all these doctors started coming in explaining to me that they were going to have to do an emergency c-section because my baby was in distress. As they were wheeling me down to the OR, RJ and his mom were walking back and I lost it. I just couldn't get over what was happening. Being a first time mom, I never thought this would happen!

I was brought into the OR and had to sit up on the operating table so they could give me a spinal tap. I remember shaking so bad and the nurse telling me that I needed to be really still. The doctor was having a hard time getting the spinal tap in because my spine was curved. I finally was numb and soon after remember asking what they were doing when the anesthesiologist told me that they were about to deliver her. Next thing I knew, RJ was next to me and Trinity was born. Our precious little girl came into the world at 3:26pm weighing 3lbs. 0.6ozs. with blue eyes and red hair.

(first time I got to see her after recovery...she was 3 days old)

(first time I got to hold her...1.5 week old)

Life in the NICU was a whirlwind with brain bleeds, eye issues, a heart murmur, central lines being pulled out and infections from ivs. My sweetpea had many ups and downs but with the care of some awesome doctors and nurses, Trinity is now one healthy growing girl! God is so good!

(This morning with her birthday muffins and cookies we made for school)

So, happy 7th birthday Trinity Nevaeh Carter. You are one strong, beautiful little girl who I love SO very much. I am proud to call you my daughter!

Weekend l Thanksgiving Bingo Printable

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent mine home with my kiddos because the boys ended up getting sick. I took Asher to the doctor yesterday and they said he had an acute version of RSV and an ear infection. Poor baby has been pitiful but hopefully with his new meds he will be back to his old self soon!

After the kiddos went to bed last night, I got to work on stuff for them to do Thanksgiving day while we are with family. I purchased some cute clip art off Etsy and decided to make some Bingo cards for everyone to play. I thought that they could use candy corn to mark their spots. I am also going to make some goodies bags for everyone to snack on as they head back home. We will be traveling to Columbia and I also have family that will be coming from Darlington and Duncan so I think the goodie bags will be good for everyone as they are traveling.  I made 6 different Bingo cards to use and once I finish the labels for the goodie bags, I will load them. Feel free to copy and use them for your family too!

Hope you all have a great Monday!!
Leaving you with this cute ecard...

Trying Yoga

So, I am trying to get back into eating healthy and taking care of myself. My life revolves around my family and work and I usually come last so I am forcing myself to think about me some. I mean I am about to turn 30 and I only have this one life to live and I guess I need to start taking care of myself so I am around a little longer. My mornings are usually crazy with having to get up at 5:30 (this is the time that the child I carpool gets to my house), getting myself & 3 others ready for the day, and trying to rush out the door by 7 to drop 2 off at school and get to work by 7:30 with the other 2. So it is hard trying to squeeze in working out into my morning but I know that I need to do it.
I used to wait till the evenings to workout but with having 3 kids now, usually I am too exhausted so mornings are pretty much the only time I know that I will be inclined to do something. Luckily I am at not a snooze button pusher so when my alarm goes off, I tend to hope right up. I plan on setting it about 15 minutes earlier and starting off light in my routine to getting used to it. I have always wanted to try yoga and it seems like it will help me with my posture and bad back. So, this morning I got up and tried this routine I found on Pinterest.

Now, I know learning to hold the poses will get easier with practice and I am glad noone was watching as I attempted it because they probably would have gotten a good laugh. I do also suggest doing this when your kids are not awake which mine will not be awake during the week but it was late this morning when I attempted it and my youngins were running around. My youngest is also sick so he refuses to let me sit him down (he is in my lap as I type this) so he got to watch me from the bed and seemed content as long as I was atleast in sight. LOL
I plan on increasing my activity as I get into routine but I think this is a good start. I always liked working out before because it gave me more energy and I felt so much better so lets hope this is my jumpstart back into a routine. So, wish me luck!
Hope you all have a blessed Sunday. I am about to head to take my youngest to the doctor. He has been running a fever for a few days now and doesn't seem to be getting any better. :( I have enjoyed cuddling with him but I hate it when my babies don't feel well! Say a prayer they can do something to help him beat this mess!!

Girl's Coat Hanger

I went and got Trinity a new bookbag the other week from Kohl's (got it for around $20 on sale & with a coupon) and realized that I did not really have a place for her to hang it and her coats for the winter season. So, off to my go-to store Hobby Lobby I went searching. They have a lot of options but I decided on this one because I liked the option of the insert. The shelf ended up costing me $10.19 ($16.99 w/40% off coupon), paint was $0.76 ($1.09 on sale for 30% off) and the paper was $0.29 ($0.59 on for 50% off) so this project ended up costing me a total of $11.24. Not bad to say that I also go to coordinated it with the colors of her room.

So, I started off by just covering the hooks with foil and painting the frame. It took about 3 layers to cover it. I suggest sanding it before hand because the texture is kind of rough. I had white paint on hand for the hooks so once I finished painting the frame and it had dried, I then painted the hooks.

I then added my paper, went through my stash of photos, added them and then hung up it up. Quick cute project to fix a need. Loved how it turned out!

I put it down on her level so that as soon as she enters her room, she can hang up her bookbag and coat and Mommy doesn't find it in the middle of the floor somewhere. Yay! LOL

Leaving you with this sweet quote on daughters because I sure do love mine!!

Hope you all have had a happy Tuesday!
